It is clarified that the on-duty pharmacy, only in areas where 2 to 6 pharmacies operate (according to the special provisions of Presidential Decree 479/1981):
- 1. May remain open optionally during the midday break.
- 2. Must remain open from the time of the evening closure of pharmacies (i.e., from 21:00 according to Article 257 of Law 4512/2018) until 22:00 for the period from October 16 to May 15, and until 23:00 for the period from May 16 to October 15.
- 3. On Sundays and public holidays, it operates normally from 9:00 to 13:00.
During the midday break (in the case where the pharmacy does not remain open) and for the time period from the above hours until the morning opening of the pharmacies, it is mandatory to post in a visible spot on the storefront a notice indicating the full name, home address, and telephone number of the overnight-duty pharmacist.
