The young creator Chris (Hannah Einbinder), raised on horror movies from the '80s and '90s, tries to convince studios to finance her dream: the revival of "Camp Miasma," a forgotten horror franchise where a gender-fluid killer terrorizes young campers. Her goal is to bring back the former teenage and now 60-year-old lead actress of the original films (Gillian Anderson), who has mysteriously retired.
Chris travels to the site of the events to meet Billy Preston, who lives in isolation, aiming to persuade her to participate in the remake. Their meeting leads to a blood-soaked chaos of desire, horror, and madness.
