In the autumn of 1943, Rosa leaves Berlin and finds refuge in a village near Adolf Hitler's headquarters, known as the "Wolf's Lair." There, along with other women, she is forced to taste the food intended for Hitler to ensure it is not poisoned. These women live daily with the fear of death and develop bonds and alliances among themselves.
Rosa falls in love with an SS officer, which complicates her position even further. The story is based on the true testimony of Margot Wolk, one of Hitler's food tasters.
