After many years of being in a relationship with his partner and colleague in film dubbing, Ivan breaks up with Pepa by leaving her a message on the answering machine. Pepa, in a bad state, leaves the house and desperately searches for him seeking explanations, but Ivan remains elusive. Meanwhile, Pepa meets Ivan's wife, who has recently been released from the psychiatric hospital, while at the same time, Candela, Pepa's friend, comes to stay at her house because she is afraid of her lover. Into this scenario enters Carlos, Ivan's son, who arrives with his fiancée. As time passes, everyone discovers that they are connected in ways they never imagined.
